Mood: waitin for the next blow!
16th October 2006
Kite surfing: Ynslas Estuary
Wind Direction: E
Wind Stength: 20 - 25 knots
Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: 15C
Sea Temperature: 15C
Weather: Heavy Rain
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Went to Als house beforehand and watched the Fanatics new 07 DVD which was pretty good.
Then ventured over to the estuary and I opted for the kite with the 20knot winds.

The sky looked pretty threatening and we could hear the thunder claps around and as I got on the water, it started to rain and from then on it just got heavier as well as the wind picking up.
Al ws out on his speedy Sputnik and 6.7 sail and he was motoring along in the estuary channel.
I was getting a bit overpowered at some points and then whenever I got any small jumps, the static build up accumulated and I was getting electric shocks down my legs so I was tyrnna stay level with the water all the time but changing tack didn't help and it was just getting worse.
Things just got worse and the shocks were getting bigger along with the zzzzzaping noises so I quickly landed the kite before I got struck by lightning. Well that was the fear.
Not out for long but a good insight into going out kiting when thunders lurking about.
